At WayOut, we believe that your data belongs to you. Our mission is to help you reduce screen time, not to track your digital footprint. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Data Collection & Storage​

WayOut is designed as an offline-first, on-device application.

  • We do not store your personal data on external servers.
  • All your usage statistics, session history, and wallet balance are stored locally on your device using Apple's secure Core Data and UserDefaults technologies.
  • If you delete the app, this local data is permanently removed.

2. HealthKit Integration​

WayOut integrates with Apple HealthKit to track your steps and walking distance. This data is used solely for the following purpose:

  • To convert your physical activity into "Screen Time Credits."
  • We DO NOT use your health data for marketing, advertising, or use-based data mining.
  • We DO NOT share your health data with third parties.

3. Screen Time & Device Activity​

We use Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls & DeviceActivity) to function.

  • This permission is used strictly to block the apps you select during the time periods you initiate.
  • We CANNOT see your browsing history, message contents, or what you do inside other apps. We only control the "shield" mechanism.

4. Analytics​

We may collect anonymous, aggregated crash reports (via Apple's built-in standard crash reporting) to improve app stability. This data contains no personally identifiable information.
